romsBioacusticas — free Android ROMs
AGPL-3.0 In developmentA build factory for free Android ROMs, based on LineageOS, for unattended field devices.
A field sensor system needs low-cost phones running on their own, with no proprietary services and no telemetry. romsBioacusticas is the reproducible factory for those ROMs: it builds stripped-down Android images from LineageOS for the devices in the fleet.
The project is careful with the licence lineage of a ROM: the layer of its own —profiles, materialisation and verification scripts, documentation— is AGPL-3.0; the kernel keeps its GPL-2.0 and the parts derived from AOSP/LineageOS their Apache-2.0. The manufacturer’s proprietary blobs are not versioned: they are extracted from the device, so everything published is fully redistributable.
