OrpycaMCP — free document management

OrpycaMCP is a modern, free reimplementation of Orfeo, the document management system used for over two decades across the Latin American public sector. It keeps its records logic —registration numbers, case files, retention schedules, workflows— and replaces the technology entirely.

It is built for compliance with Colombian records legislation: a unique, immutable registration number, an auditable trail of the document life cycle, classification by security level and access control. It positions itself as the free alternative to commercial document management suites.

The architecture is microservices behind a central gateway: authentication, institutions, documents, records, object storage with integrity checks, workflows, notifications, electronic signature and semantic retrieval. An MCP layer exposes the platform as tools for artificial intelligence agents.

The AI layer was designed for restricted information: models can run inside the institution’s own infrastructure, clearance filtering happens on the server before anything reaches the model, and material classified as restricted is never sent to an external provider — with no configurable exception.
